Not A Good Day To Work In Politics

What would you do with octuple your salary? We can only imagine the jubilance among LG's Home Entertainment Devision in South Korea.

The corporation reported profits of £290million in the last quarter, their best results for two years, which they attribute to their increase in sales of high end TVs. In short, they're profiting from our lack of creativity when it comes to thinking about how we want to take in entertainment. I've never understood why people will buy a TV, laptop and stereo, CDs and DVDs when a decent laptop would have done the job just as well.

The contrast between the atmosphere in that workplace compared with UKIP's headquarters in Devon must be staggering as they hurriedly distance themselves from their now former council candidate for Enfield. WIlliam Henwood has quit after tweeting that Lenny Henry 'did not have to live with whites' and should go back to a 'black country', comments he has defended, telling the BBC,
'If black people come to this country...and don't like mixing with white people, why are they here?'.

Indeed it seems there is no amount of beer Nigel Farage can chug that will remove the sour taste of racism from his party at the moment as an internal investigation has revealed that two other members of the party are linked to extremist organisations.

However, there is hope for UKIP's leader who had confirmed he would stand in the upcoming by-electon if it was held after the European Parliament Election on May 22nd. Lucky for him Patrick Mercer has confirmed just hours ago that he is resigning as a Tory MP, making this incredibly likely to happen.

Mercer, who was already suspended from the party for six months after allegedly asking specific questions in parliament for money, told the press there is
'No point in shilly shallying what's happened has happened and I am ashamed of it. I argue with nothing that the committee has said or may not have said because I still don't know officially'.

Not a good day to work in politics then. I continue to live in hope that honest MPs are like busses but it seems, today at least, they're more like waiting for a Piccadilly line train.
